2003 In Review
Well today is my last change to give a the year in review. So I will give it a try to remember what I can.
Got the new appartment to a finished status. Even though it was not technically finished. As a matter of fact it's still not finished. If I recall properly, in the bedroom we put down the rug. In the living room we painted, put up the moldings and put down the flooring. In the kitchen we put down the rug.
I think the 14 of the month we began moving our stuff in. All the stuff we could live without. So as our ex-landlord wa noticing this he was getting a little anxious to get us out of the appartment, so he became an ass starting to harass us. So needless to say we probably would've stayed another couple of weeks in the appartment, only he was pushing us out. A lot more happend involving him that I really don't want to rehash, but lets put it this way. He made our life very difficult and I really should've put him in his place a little better.
So we looked at a calendar the other night and the first night in the apartment was January 28th.
February 2003 -
Obviously this month was spent unpacking and organizing our newly moved in stuff. We also spent alot of time throwing out garbage that has been around the house forever, as well as stuff we collected over time.
We temporarily took in 2 kittens just before a snow storm. Figured they would'nt survive otherwise so we had them in the basement for a couple of weeks to take care of them and nurse them back to health.
Cleaned up in the basement once again and painted my office.
I don't remember March well. It must've been pretty quiet. I know we did some things around the house, but exactly what I don't know.
Bought a new BBQ grill and started phase1 renovating the yard... Much of our time was spent in the yard.
Started this Weblog... So if you want to know more look thru the archives.

So you want to be a Programmer... /// AnalogX
This has to be one of the best analysis' of a programmer, and wanting to be a programmer I have ever read.
Hey Hey we're the Monkeys
Ug. I ate to much for lunch. Alex and I went to an Italian restaurant and they had a buffet. So you know when you go to a buffet I can't just have one plate. No, now why would I do that. I would'nt be sick when I left then would I, and what fun is that. I kinda feel like I ate a basketball...
Jay is coming home tommorow, depending on what he does when he hits the Airport. Jeff is picking him up from the airport Weds and then he may just go with him and get home on thursday the 1st. So we shall see what happens.

So this is the last week of 2003...
Getting prepared to say good bye to 2003 as it has led to both good and bad things. Neither of which I will hold against it. However if it ever #$%$#^@#%^#%&^*#$$@
Hopefully before the year is out I will post a year in review, due to the fact that the entries in this blog only began this year. Are you looking forward to it. I know I am. Well I hope I get to it cause I don't really see much point of doing it after the year is out. But hey you never know... look for 2003 in review.
Geritrex is partially live on the new Chargeback System I (Powerhouse Digital Solutions) wrote. I hoped to have everything done by last friday but I was'nt so lucky. It may have been better of anyway I had a few misconceptions I was able to clear up on Friday and Saturday while I was there... So I'm looking to have a complete version by December 31. Wish me luck.
So if you know any manufacturers that need a chargeback system tell em to give PDS Chargeback System a look see. I have'nt come up with a better name for it yet. If you got any ideas let me hear em...

You've sunk my Battleship
Well it's Christmas Eve day. I guess that's how you would put it. I'm at work and my stomach is kicking my ass. I'm looking forward to the day off tommorow, however I really was'nt expecting christmas to come so soon. By the time I get into the mood, it's over. Yeash... My friend Alex is dressed up for the occasion... I'll have to put this pic up later on...
Now it's already on to becoming a new year. And for me it seems it should be a good one. There are a few troubles lurking but nothing I or we cannot overcome.
December 23, 2003
Well atleast today is a nice day outside.
I've got 3 days to finish up a software project with a client and hope that not much more follows. I cannot wait to be free of it. Not that I don't like the money. I just got involved with it too soon.
I just hope it leads to getting this hosting/design account. I find I like web design much better, more satisfaction.

Lime in the coconut
So Saturday was my birthday. Big woop...
Kevin & Cathy were kind enuff to pay me a birthday visit. We had cake and wavy candles. Made my day a little better. I actually forgot it was my birthday. When I was younger I could'nt wait until my birthday. It felt like I was waiting for the day all year long. But now I kind of try not to remember, and I don't even know why. It's not for any good reason, I just kind of think of it as any other day.
I did however get out to hempstead to finalize the Harley... I was amazed to find that they had already added the sissy bar, throttled the carb and put on the Vance & Hines exhaust pipes. Hmmm, how do I type a Tim Allen manly grunt ???????
The main site has yet to see any changes. I've got a few ideas but nothing I'm jumping up and down over. There are so many things I'd like to do, and I find myself doing none of them. Ha...
Well atleast I've accomplished one thing this year. I've successfully started my own business, and that I am happy with. Now if only I could catch up, I'd be exstatic (spelling?)
Oh, I got my company pens... If anybody wants one let me know. Send and E-Mail to email@example.com and I'll get you one. Now all I need is to get more business cards. I have yet to decide on where I'm going to get them. I'll probably order them online, but I have yet to find a design I like. I definately want the banner on them so any place I order them from would have to be able to use custom graphics.

More site news... This is starting to get repetative here...
Due to issues with my ISP I had to move www.forste.net to www2.forste.net in order for roadrunner to stop blocking my mail.forste.net. www.forste.net now resides on a server in another location and yes it does redirect you to www2.forste.net ... Not that you care. But I do... ;)
However vance.forste.net stays put on the current server until something else happens, and at the moment I have no plans on moving it. I like it running local out of my basement.
I probably bore the shit out of you people, huh !
Oh well that is me, what can I tell ya.
The recontruction of the site is still up in the air as to exactly WHAT I am doing but like I said I still hope to have something better by the end of the year. Even though I do like phpWebsite I have some issues with it, and nobody lets me know what they think so here I am trying to decide what is best. I'd like to have some contribution from other people on the site other than my own, but it does'nt look like that will ever happen. Well eventually it will have a purpose other than a picture board. I mean that's the only reason there's even anyone going to it. Atleast I know my script works ;-)
December 15, 2003
I forgot to mention. It snowed again sunday morning. So again I woke up to the sounds of shoveling and snow plows.

UPDATE : forste.net
Check out a sample of forste.net running phpWS...
December 08, 2003
I just made a decision that I'm going to revamp forste.net. I'm tired of looking at that lamo site. I'm undecided on what to do right now though. I thought of using phpWebsite for the content driver, but I'm not to sure that's what I want to do. Although it does provide quite a bit more than anything I can whip up in a couple of weeks. I don't know anybody have any opinions or thoughts ?

Photo Board Fixed...
I finally had some time to fix the photo script last night. I don't know why but whenever I upgrade perl I wind up with a mess. So I'm not even going to attempt it again for a while..

I personally think #3 and 4 are best.

Drivers that Piss me off
1. Speeding in excess of speeding. Hey I speed 10-20 miles over the speed limit sometimes. But there are some seem to think it's not at all dangerous to drive at 100mph through traffic and around bends. I hope know you are going to eventually cause a major accident. Luck only lasts for so long.
2. I really can't stand assholes that swerve in and out of lanes during rush hour, getting no where. You swerve in front with 2 inches of space between me and the car in front nearly cause me to rear end your car. Then you swerve back to your orignal lane again winding up behind.
3. If someone's car dies in the middle of the road do you really need to lose your fucking mind by steadily blowing your horn. It's my guess that they are stuck there for a reason and that reason is their fucking car won't go. Blowing your horn aint gonna get them out of the way. Give em a break.
4. If you're tailgate you might want to slow down a bit before you make contact with a bumper.
5. See all those red lights ahead ? That means you're are gonna have to stop. You will have to slam on the brakes sooner or later.
6. I can truly give 2 shits if your gonna talk on your cell phone and drive. But so many drivers can't drive and chew bubble gum at the same time without swerving or unexpected speed and lane changing.
7. If you're gonna drive drunk, try to decide which lane you're gonna use. And then stay in your own fucking lane. I can't make the decision for you.
8. How bout turning your bright lights off when you are driving right at me.
9. Drivers making a right turn into the left lane. I mean come on do you really think you are the only one on the road

So how come no one leaves me comments ?
I know I'm boring but hey give me something else to read other than my own blabber... ;-)
So I have begun the process of purchasing a 2003 Harley Davidson Sportster XL Sport 100th Anniversary... It's still not written in stone, but it is written. In order to find out finance an other info I had to put a deposit down. They said it's completely refundable if I change my mind, but as it stands my pocket is a few bills lighter.

A little Christmas fun
Some of you may have noticed there is a glitch in the main photo board on the main page. Just so you know I am aware of it and it's on my list of needs fixin. I've attempted to fix it a couple of times. I've just been having bad luck with one of the modules lately. It will be back up and running again soon.
Also I will be adding a few new features to it in the near future so keep a look out.
I guess it's a mid-life crisis... I dunno... What do you think...
