Well finally a weekend without rain!
We were able to put up the new steps and railing to our deck. I was also able to reinforce the standings. NO MORE WOBBELING...
It was a fairly simple task that with help took 3 times as long to complete as I had anticipated. But it's done and I happy so who cares. Right !
To take a step back on thursday we tried to put our large A/C in the kitchen window for the time being. Low an behold it did not fit. If it was a standard window frame I would have been ok. But these plastics shits suck. It made it out the window(barely), but with nothing to mount it to, and the window came down on top of the mount it's supposed to fall into. So we moved it into the living room where the older windows are and it went in like butter. I already had an A/C in this window so I tried to move it to the kitchen. I figured it's smaller so it should fit. YEAH RIGHT. Same exact problem. Now I'm mad and yellin at the windows. Like that's gonna help.
So we went out to pick up A/C's. I had the intentions of buyin wall models but at the last minute we decided to buy smaller ones so we can get em in NOW.
Guess what. I had the same problem with the new A/C's. The only difference is they are smaller and lighter, so I was able to jury rig them into the frames.
I REALLY HATE these new plastic windows. I'd rather have the old ones still any day.
Oh yeah... I also added 4 more fish to the pond ... 2 more Koi and 2 Pond fish...

COURT DOCKET 12659---CASE OF THE PREGNANT LADY
A lady about 8 months pregnant got on a bus. She noticed the man
opposite her was smiling at her She immediately moved to another seat.
This time the smile turned into a grin, so she moved again. The man
seemed more amused. When on the fourth move, the man burst laughing,
she complained to the driver and he had the man arrested.
The case came up in court. The judge asked the man (about 20 years old)
what he had to say for himself.
The man replied, "Well your Honor, it was like this:
When the lady got on the bus, I couldn't help but notice her condition.
She sat under a sign that said, "The Double Mint Twins are coming" and
Then she moved and sat under a sign that said, "Logan's Liniment will
reduce the swelling", and I had to smile.
Then she placed herself under a sign that said, "William's Big Stick
Did the Trick", and I could hardly contain myself.
BUT, your Honor, when she moved the fourth time and sat under a sign
that said, "Goodyear Rubber could have prevented this Accident"...I
just lost it.

What to do about the stairs... I am pondering. To the side or straight out. To the side would require a little more building but would probably be nicer. Going straight out seems simpler but kind of ruins the complexity if the deck already in place ... What to do, What to do...
I am also currently considering the consulting work that kind of fell in my lap... It should be good money but the problem is I'm the one that needs to determine how much. I don't want to go overboard and I don't want to lowball myself either...
Dilemnas seem to be a way of life for me...
Calling all Salesman
Who wants to sell webpages for me. I'm not kidding. I think I can make this work. I want to resell webspace for local business. Go shop to shop. We will create and maintain. Look at these rates SLRNet... I can do the pages. We can offer a E-Shop if requested and more for a LOW cost. I'm figuring in the relm of under $100 a month for an E-Commerce site and like $25 a month + T&M for page for just a static page. Anybody up for it ? Wanna go shop 2 shop... I hear $$$$ calling. Let's answer the phone. Glendale is here for the picking. Who wants to get in on this. I'm going to start with one. I'm hoping he'll go for it. The whole shebang.

It don't get much more amusing than this.... ;-)

#19: Joe's Pencil:
Needless to say, that tard room I work in doesn't have a pencil sharpener. I have one that suction cups to my desk that I keep in a locked drawer. Whenever I need to sharpen a pencil, I take it out, clamp it down, and sharpen away. Today I got the sharpener out for Antonio's pencil. I figured while I have it out I might as well ask if any of the other tards need their pencils sharpened. I make this announcement, and Joe immediately wedges his head under his desk and starts crying.
This doesn't surprise me. Joe usually acts this way whenever he has done something wrong. I walk over to him and ask him what the problem is.
"Nothin'" he replies.
I go back to my desk to begin sharpening tard pencils. Most of the tards come up, including Joe. One by one they hand me their pencils and I sharpen them. Joe steps up and hands me a magic marker.
I manage to explain to Joe that it isn't a pencil, and you don't need to sharpen it. Joe insists that it is a pencil and that I have to sharpen it. I'm about to explain for a second time, when Joe grabs the marker and shoves it in the pencil sharpener. He starts cranking the poor thing like crazy and the marker begins bleeding all over the desk. By the time I pulled Joe away from the sharpener he had mauled the marker down to a one inch stub.
I made Joe sit down and write an apology, with a pencil that I provided. In his apology Joe wrote about how he had lost his pencil and he thought I would be angry, so he brought up a marker. He wrote that he thought he could trick me, and he is sorry.
I guess if you are looking at this site for the first time it may look a little confusing... The Visual Basic design I chose has buttons and scrollbars as the background. I realized this may be a bit confusing on the eyes. Espesially to a novice. I think I need to make a generic default skin.
I realize that if I ever scrap this design in it's entirety this message is a little confusing so here are 2 snaps of what it currently looks like...
Did part of the railing for the deck last night. It looks pretty good. I think we've got a thing for angles going on here. Hopefully we will be able to finish it this weekend. Now only if I knew what to do with the stairs. Oh well I'm sure we'll come up with something. L8r

When we were playing around with MoreGroupware we used OpenSourceCMS to play around with it a bit. So I saw OpenSourceCMS on Chris Pirillo's Blog the other day and I clicked over to it. I'll be damned ... I like osCommerce. I had'nt noticed it before. I think I may try to talk Paradise into using it. I can write a back end to it. Wow prospects... I love em. Only when they come together of course.
Hey, I did think of this one first
It amazes me how many programs I've written that I see lately. I thought they were stupid little ideas that no one would use, and here I find a button generator. I wrote something very similar in perl, way back when I wrote the Foto Board. In fact it's what generates the buttons for it on the fly... Well I guess I'm just looking for the glory, so I should'nt go on about it. He who gets acknowledged first wins. And actually www.flamingtext.com is where I got the idea from in the first place so they actually deserve the credit anyway.

Here's just a quick one cause I'm running out of time.... Never seems to be enuff... The deck platform is complete. I took off Monday hoping to complete it and I did... Yay for me. The project pics are bundled in here ...
Of course the project did not go without flaw. I sprained my ankle in the process. It is'nt to bad right now but it was HURTING... I dealt with it and finished up...

Today is Fathers Day... A day to remind us that we have fathers and should be grateful to them for what they have given us. Unfortunate for me, my father is in Florida and I don't know when I will be seeing him next. Anyway even though he gave us trouble in the last 3 years, I can see before that when he truly was a father, and I do appreciate him for it.
With that in mind we celabrated the day by disasembling the top of the deck... Nothing to difficult just removing the nails from the top boards and screwing them back so we can still utilize the deck and remove them easily.
Later on we had Fred over for our Fathers day blitz. Nothing fancy... Just a little BBQ. Marc play Bobbie Flay and was grilling... While Grandma, Fred and Sharon talked around the pond. A simple BBQ.
This week in revue
Lets see what went on over this past week...
I really had no intention of putting any fish in it.
We finally finished the arbor for the Grape Vine in the yard.

As I was surfing Blog links I came accross this Blog for a shareware author for a HTML/CSS editor...
Seems like a sweet package. I'm wondering if my editor will ever get to a point like this. I definately need a marketing ploy. I don't think that UV editing is a very profitable niche. But anyway this guy has quite a few interesting posts up so I think I'm going to give it a permanent place in my links.

Well I'm in the yard right now, on my new Linksys Wireless G access point. It seems to tie into the network seemlessly. It seems that the pond is out of reach for it though. But the picnic table is just barely in reach.
It's not really for use outside, although I'm sure this will be a huge use. It's really just cause I don't really want to run wires to every corner of the house. Seems like every time I run a wire I find a new place. This is meant to be the solution for that.
Hey for $300 for the access point and 3 card I really can't go wrong. Now all I need is a longer lasting battery. As I get my warning message now ........
At work but I figured I'd comment quick...
Jason's Blog design has begun... I have a basic up right now. I'm kinda looking forward to it in use.

So here I am writing the app to print checks off the host system. Obviously the text is SO easy. However the signature image is giving me a PCL headache. I'm also awaiting a MICR kit for the printer.
Oh yeah and just for my reference the PCL Quick Reference Manual
Spongebob Squarepants & GoldFish
Check it out... Sharon setup a 1.5 gallon Spongebob tank. Kind of cute.
Got a beta (Better known as Fighting Fish)... It died in like 48 hours. So we had to go to paradise anyway to see about the filter for the pond, so she picked up two small bubblehead goldfish. Makes me kind of miss the tropical fishtank...
Back to work for me.

Are YOU REALLY THIS STUPID`
First off with a very remote possibility that this is even possible. Standard SMTP E-Mail goes pretty much from sender to recipient. There is no one E-Mail repository worldwide that MS could even scan, unless you were using thier servers. Same goes with AOL. I mean ok MS could also put a back door in Outlook as well, but that is'nt even feasable. There are plenty of other non-MS, non-AOL mail readers.
Second off. MS and AOL would both go broke in no time even if the amount offering was 1cent.
Now on top of this all. YOUR ARE WASTING PEOPLES TIME... You think mail administrators are'nt trapping your e-mail looking at it and cursing you and then thinking well he/she is only an idiot.
This is not the only scam that pisses me off that people actually send but it's one of the most obvious.
PS : Oh that reminds me I'm having a banking problems where I live and I need your bank account number so I can deposit my billion dollars till my bank has resolved it's issues. thnks.

Hah... Finally I can play Ping Pong again...
The new table is assembled and ready to rock ...
Read on if you wanna see it's predecessor...
Here is the table that would not quit...
It's been thru the times of The Forste Family... It was originally my Dad and Uncles table. We were lucky enough for it to still be around for our childhood. Jason and I had plenty of fun with this bad boy. However it looks as if time has taken it's toll. It was used not only as a ping pong table but the work table too. So it kind of got alot of extra abuse as you can see. I'm sure it's still got a few games left in it so I'm fighting my urges to throw it out. I think it will live under the stairs in the archives for another generation of the Forste Family to see and maybe I'll even set it up for a game.
Until that day this new German made rollaway is going to see some games. I know it will be a good table but I feel for the Family table. Call me sentimental.
For those of us who do not remember the old look. I forgot to take before pics. I'm sure I'll find some sooner or later but for now, here's the new look.
